Key word: Be Smooth. Brakes, throttle, shifting, leaning, every input has to be smooth. (think driving in snow)

Leaving more space and braking distance, isn't so much for you... It's for the cars around you. Imagine.. You stopping harder than expected for any reason... Problem? The car behind you can't stop the same. So avoid creating/getting into a situation that requires you to do sudden stops.
