PRS at Vancouver Island Motorsports Circuit with Ignition Motorsports and Mile Zero Motorsports
Big thank you to Ignition Motorsports and Mile Zero Motorsports for the invitation to ride the AWESOME new track at Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit!
As soon as we drove through the gates, we were left in awe. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and trees, we were blown away by the world-class facility. From the driveway leading into the compound, to the gorgeous buildings, club garage, paddock…. we were left speechless!
Another great feature of the track is that cameras monitor the entire trackc, which alleviates the need for corner marshals on all the 19 corners. And, did we mention elevation changes?! Combined that with off-cambered turns, it’s a very busy and challenging track!
The crew of Ignition Motorsports took care of us immediately with our registration process, and was well-organized for the track day. The day was divided into 3 groups of 20 minutes, which included a catered lunch, and again, we were pleasantly surprised with the grub! Not your typical hot dogs and pop (not that there’s anything wrong with that), but VIMC and IM really went the distance.
We brought 2 bikes, I (Brose) was on my Ninja 250 and Kramer on Mile Zero’s GSX-R 1000. The 250 railed through the course, as if it was built for my bike! Kramer wasn’t able to get out of second gear in the morning, but as the day progressed, he was able to pick up his speeds, and even started sliding the back-end through the corners.
I’m not sure, but I think our last session only had 4 riders on the track! We didn’t want the Disney-esque experience to end! What a great day spent on probably one of the nicest days remaining of 2017. We will definitely be back to here, sooner than later, and hopefully we’ll overwhelm the island folk with a sea of PRS alumni!
